Graphic Design / Presentation Design
Creating presentation templates is not only a way for me to hone my design skills, but it also allows me to practice crafting compelling narratives and sharpen my creativity.
This may seem unusual, but it helps me to consider the various spatial qualities that a digital space can possess. In designing presentation templates, I not only have to think about the users who will utilize them but also how to effectively showcase important information within a small 2D space.
I believe that these aspects of design deeply overlap with user experience (UX) principles, which is why I find this process to be particularly valuable.

My Approach
To kick off the design process for presentation templates, I typically begin by sketching out initial designs either using traditional pen and paper or digitally on Figma. What sets these templates apart is that I draw inspiration from my surroundings, as I believe that creativity can be found in even the simplest things, such as a single color.
Once the design is completed on Figma, I then move onto translating it onto Canva to create a presentation template, keeping in mind how users will interact with it. I consider the usability of the template, ensuring that it is user-friendly.
Finally, once the template has been fully translated onto Canva, I create my own presentation samples using the template to identify any potential usability issues, errors, or mistakes that were missed in the previous stages. This final step allows me to refine the template further and ensure that it is polished and ready for use by clients.
